Class of 2002-04

Two years in KIAMS I believe changed me for good.
KIAMS sharpened my analytical skills, strategic mindset and gave me confidence to think big. Case studies and projects not only helped me to learn but also prepared me for the corporate life by exposing me to deadlines and team-work.
The wonderful infrastructure at Harihar played a key role in my all-round development. I learnt from the faculty and my classmates also.
I'll always be indebted to KIAMS Harihar and extend my best wishes to my alma mater.

Class of 2002-04

When I joined KIAMS from graduate school, I was a youngster still unsure about myself. At KIAMS, I gained lot of skill and confidence from doing presentations, interacting with peers and putting forward my views in a group. Two years in KIAMS honed me for the competitive corporate world.
The professors and other staff at KIAMS were very helpful and supportive in providing a great platform for developing a student both professionally and spiritually. As quoted by our Director – Dr. Gopal Iyengar - KIAMS is involved in the education of business and not in the business of education.
Today I owe my success of working in a large bank in India to my professors and team KIAMS.

Class of 2012-2014

Today, as I looked back at how my dreams have materialized into reality, I can’t begin to Thank “KIAMS” for preparing me to achieve at a level higher than I thought possible.
World-class faculties, classroom teaching, exposure to complex case studies & Placement guidance during my PGDM was invaluable — without it I most surely would have been lost at sea. I don’t know if it is possible to convey in words the sense of gratitude to each and every faculty member, placement cell & support staff involved in the process & their tireless efforts.
Today, I dedicate my success to KIAMS for shaping up my life in the best way possible.
Dipak Jain
Vice President Corporate Banking, The Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd.
Class of 2004-06

Well, to sum it up KIAMS gave me an altogether different perspective not just about my career but also about life. I was wandering like a nomad until I joined KIAMS and from the day my curriculum started, I began to realize what all I had been missing in life until then. The rigorous academic curriculum, the mid-night calls for completing assignments, the project deadlines, class politics, preparing for management fests and cultural events, placements – they all had a different fervour, a different challenge, and a different learning. Today I can proudly say that all the churning prepared me for corporate life and has helped me successfully sail through 11 years in the Indian banking industry.
KIAMS not only gave us a solid management education but it also helped transform our personalities. It bought out the best in each one of us. It made us think about our future individually without having to rely on anyone else. Few institutions in India take education so seriously. As our Ex-Director Dr. Gopal Iyengar always used to say, that we are not in the business of education but in the education of business. He was so correct. His philosophy, his teachings, his methodology, his discipline was indeed a rare virtue which not only helped us shape our careers but significantly helped KIAMS gain recognition in its initial formative years. I was lucky to have had Gurus such as Dr. Iyengar, Dr. Janaki Naik, Prof. Vinod Madhavan etc who were not just management gurus in their respective areas of expertise but pioneers who helped us shape our igniting minds. And put the fire within us. To think. To decide for ourselves. To face the world.
N Srilakshmi
Insurance Department, Meraas Holding LLC, Dubai.
Class of 2004-06

I am a part of the prominent KIAMS diaspora in the Middle East. A pass-out of the 2007 batch of KIAMS, I started my career with Al-Futtaim Willis as an Insurance Consultant in Dubai, catering to the insurance requirements of government companies and large multinational companies. I then got promoted as the Network Country Manager for UAE and Qatar, and in 2015 I took up the position of Deputy Head of the Corporate Department. During my tenure with Willis, I was awarded the Willis Medallion for being innovative and developing the client database portal that assisted the company in cross-sell initiatives.
I was recently provided with the Willis Tower Watson Long Service award for the continuous service of 10 years.
Now I have bagged the opportunity of moving to the client side and joining the insurance department of a major corporate Group, Meraas Holding LLC. It is a Dubai based holding Company, which operates through its subsidiaries in real estate, hospitality, leisure and entertainment, tourism, technology, retail, food and beverage etc.
I attribute my success to the training and development provided by KIAMS. More than an educational institution KIAMS acts as a platform to develop and nurture your skill set to perform better in your career.
The Capstone Projects, Operacy, Pragati each one is designed to enhance your interpersonal skills and innovative thinking.
KIAMS is a beautiful memory – the friendly but professional faculty, the marketing classes, the winning moments at Operacy, management of Pragati (the one of its kind rural marketing fest at KIAMS), group discussions, and capstone project. Everything at KIAMS was so full of life.
I was also able to bring life to the staff parties at Willis by introducing fun activities and singing and I was part of the organising committee and organised the staff party for about five years.
I would like to thank KIAMS for nurturing my leadership and interpersonal skills that helped me grow steadily and successfully in my career.

Class of 2006-08

It’s tough to explain in words how KIAMS changed my life. When I look at all the decisions that I made in my last 10 years of professional life, I can clearly see a pattern, something that I call the ‘KIAMS influence’.
Though there are many, but my biggest take away from the two years that I spent at KIAMS was ‘Structured Thinking’. Every activity that you're involved in your professional life requires you to analyse the options, and choose the best one and KIAMS empowers you with the skills and knowledge that one needs to make those informed decisions.
Excellent faculty, great campus and an awesome group of individuals who want to excel in life, all this makes KIAMS one of the greatest institutions that one can count on to help him/her shape their future.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the KIAMS team and all my good friends who helped me do something that I enjoy and feel good about.

I leverage this prospect to say “Thank you!” to all my professors (Gurus) in KIAMS for the knowledge imparted to me and for their guidance and mentorship. Their lessons become my weapons in this current world.
These two years at KIAMS sparked the fire in me and transformed my life from “Can I do it” to “I can do it”. I started believing in my strengths and I started to dream big. This is a result of confidence that was nurtured in me at KIAMS.
Priyanka Eluri

Class of 2008-10

“The gulf between results and dreams is bridged by persistent action” - a quote well said by one of my mentors and something that I strongly believe in. Today, I am proud to say that KIAMS has been the bridge to my management career dream.
I would like to summarise my learning here with the 3Cs – Competence, Confidence and Conviction. The competence to meet the industry requirements, the confidence to take up the business challenges, and the ability to speak up with conviction and a lot more happened to me at KIAMS.
The two year PGDM programme had an eclectic mix of all the elements required to make one a successful manager right from the course curriculum to the great professors and the very interesting assignments and assessments. All these have helped me immensely in my corporate journey as a management trainee to the current position that I’m in. Some of the professors have influenced me professionally and personally and continue to do so.
Thank you KIAMS, thank you for everything!
Mallika Vikrant Sharma

Class of 2000-2002

This platform gives me a special way to say "Thank you!" to all my professors in KIAMS, for their outstanding knowledge and ability to impart it to us. Their ability to push us beyond our perceivable limits has been exemplary. KIAMS impacted me and dared me to dream... a dream to be out of the rat race, out of the corporate humdrum into the creation of a brand of my own. This institution equipped me to cope with life skill issues and to pioneer business challenges. When the business values and ethics along with the power of knowledge gets internalised into the personality, one can be confident to achieve the set goals without looking back. This strength and confidence have been given to me by team KIAMS.
Today, I owe my success of building "The Bel Street", chain of Italian Restaurants, to my professors and team KIAMS.
Jitender Singh
Project Manager, Decathlon Sports India.
Class of 2000-2002

KIAMS was a wonderful learning lab academically and culturally. It was an opportunity to understand how to live with and amongst others who might not share your point of view and/or agree on the subjects in and out of the classroom. The campus and academic methodology encourages teamwork, initiative, healthy competition and taking the lead. The same qualities which one requires to survive and grow in a corporate environment. The same has helped me immensely during my career and will continue to do so for the batches to come as well!!
Sudeshna Srivastava
Senior Manager, HR, Genpact India.
Class of 2001-03

My life at KIAMS has largely shaped me into the person I am today. Some of my strongest aspirations found their base there, thanks to the guidance of Prof. Nargundkar, Prof. Kayastha, Dr. Pai, Dr. Iyengar and Prof. Kulkarni to name a few. Not only were they fine teachers but excellent mentors too. I would go to the extent to say that this institution helped me discover myself, to become the confident HR person I am today as compared to the young and shy girl I was once upon a time. I shall always remain grateful for the opportunity.
Muthaiah Narayanan
Program Manager, Ashok Leyland Nissan Vehicles Limited.
Class of 2007-09

KIAMS according to me is Knowledge enrichment with industry oriented Analysis Methods and Systems. The pedagogy is closely aligned to the ever increasing methods, systems, analysis and needs of the industry and accordingly modified every year. It helps one to be industry ready at any point in time. The activities like industry integration, corporate presentations, summer internship training, capstone presentations, outbound training sessions, rural marketing fair, management forums etc helped me obtain a holistic view on decisions that I take as a person or a professional. KIAMS continues to enrich my knowledge even today with a host of activities like alumni mentorship for summer placements, mock interviews for final year students and discussions within the alumni network for personal/professional growth. Thanks to KIAMS for enriching my life.

KIAMS has played an immense role in shaping me as a person. The faculty, resources, course structure, curricular and extracurricular activities at KIAMS aid in the holistic development of a person. The tremendous experience in the system helps one to groom as a thought leader!
I am an entrepreneur and have been in business for the past 5 years. The business proposition of Enthusionz is to empower brands for the digital revolution, till now we have digitalised 100 brands. We are a startup, yet highly process oriented. Being profitable since inception that too while starting with zero investment in itself is a tremendous achievement. All this accomplishment is a testament to my learning at KIAMS and the way it has shaped my life. I owe my life to KIAMS!
