"I am delighted to have taken over as the Director of KIAMS Harihar in early July 2017 and would endeavour to enhance the stature and ranking of this reputed B-school. I have occupied the hot seat at a time when the global economy is experiencing turbulence. This is owing to several events shaping the world, prominent among these being Brexit, the appointment of the new American President and his nationalistic policies, the slowdown of the Chinese economy, the European refugee problem and global terror with its hub in the Middle East. All of these are having a telling impact on the global GDP growth rate and consequently employment. Repercussions of these developments are being felt by the Indian economy as well. While the global economy is facing tectonic shifts, the corporate sector is becoming more competitive and demanding. Need for new skill sets (e.g. analytics), design thinking, knowledge of foreign languages, parallel processing ability and soft skills are increasingly becoming the need of the hour. These are impacting the education sector especially management schools. KIAMS is seized of these changes and demands and has carved out a curriculum designed to instil in students’ knowledge, skills, competencies and attitude to manage in the emerging scenario. Competent and qualified faculty resources are drawn in to deliver courses, infrastructure is state-of-the-art, required software is in place and linkages with industry are established. The result oriented work culture created at the Institute has brought in its wake several rewarding outcomes. On the placement front students have been placed in several blue chip companies including Amazon India, Oracle Financial Services Software Limited, Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd., The Nielsen Company, HDFC Bank Ltd., Airtel Ltd., Coffee Day Beverages and Deloitte Consulting India Private Limited. Academic research has resulted in publications in reputed refereed journals in the US, Canada, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and India published by Springer, SAGE, World Scientific and Elsevier. Management consulting and development services have been rendered for several organizations such as Jindal Steel Works, Grasim Industries Ltd, Mitsubishi Trading Company, Tata Motors, India Adecco, Al-Horaibi, Dubai and Abdullah Hashim Co. Ltd., Dubai. To top all these capabilities, support that KIAMS receives from the prestigious Kirloskar Groups of Companies ensures that the future of students who enter the portal of KIAMS is extremely bright."
