The Convocation Day is one the biggest and proudest moments for all management graduates. Ramya, student of PGDM B 17 at KIAMS agrees with that whole heartedly. But besides getting her hands on the coveted certificate, she is pleased about the fact that the entire batch of students is under one roof one more time. As she begins her professional career with Home First Finance Company, Mumbai, she reflects on her journey from Andhra Pradesh in the East to Maharashtra in the West. The twain did meet in her case, and clearly it was a happy union.
Ramya remembers her first day at KIAMS when she was nervous and apprehensive about the big cultural bridge she was trying to cross. “I was so scared; I didn’t know how I was going to cope. But the college and everyone around here made me one of their own quite quickly. KIAMS has taught me a lot and given me so much. I will forever be grateful for that,” she says emotionally. Of course amongst the things she has gained is her placement with HFFC, a house fund company based in the financial capital of the country.
She talks about the platform KIAMS created for her and the opportunities she has been offered throughout the two years. While Ramya is keen on building on it, she also wants to strengthen her bonds with her friends from the institute. “Whatever I am today it is because my friends and faculty members have helped me a lot. Yes, KIAMS has given me a terrific career growth opportunity, which I will make the most out of. But for me the biggest achievement is the love of people I have had in these last two years at the institute,” she adds.
According to Ramya, they are her lifetime of memories that she doesn’t want to let go of. For her the time spent at her institute and in the company of her friends is precious. Ask her what her plan would be to stay in close contact with her friends and KIAMS, and pat comes the reply, “I am already looking forward to the alumni meet. It’s an event I will not miss any year, no matter where I am or what I am doing. I want to be back on this campus and see my friends as much as possible,” she says enthusiastically.
