KIAMS receives National Education Award for best Industry Related Curriculum in Marketing

Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies, widely known as KIAMS, has bagged the National Education Award for “B-School with Industry Related Curriculum in Marketing”for 2015. The honour was bestowed on the prestigious B-school at a prestigious ceremony held at Taj Land’s End, Bandra, on the 23rd of July 2015.

Instituted by Anand Bazar Patrika Group (ABP News), the National Education Awards recognises outstanding institutions and individuals for taking business education to the next level. B-schools are assessed on their innovative, modern, and Industry-related curriculum in Marketing, Advertising, Marketing Communications, Engineering & Technology adaptation. The awards are well-researched and chosen by an independent jury and a panel of professionals who believe in nurturing and recognizing outstanding talent. It is an annual affair, attracting participation from the very best B-Schools in the country.

“KIAMS has spearheaded numerous industry-oriented innovations infull-time PGDM education,” said Dr. C.N. Narayana, Director, KIAMS, on the sidelines of the ceremony in Mumbai, after receiving the National Education Award for “B-School with Industry Related Curriculum in Marketing.” “KIAMS introduced the Balanced Growth Card – a holistic evaluation of the student that focuses not only on performance outcomes but also on demonstrated effort and underlying competencies. We were the first to Introduce seminar credits. This brought to the student the latest industrial practices in management, delivered by industry practitioners.”

Raised in 1991, KIAMS is widely recognised amongst the Top-20 B-schools in the country. Originally designed for the purpose of being a captive management centre-of-excellence for the managers of Kirloskar Group,in 1995, KIAMS became a regular B-school with a strong industry-based curriculum. This move was deeply motivated by the larger benefit to the nation. By the late nineties, the Indian economy had opened up considerably, and industry-relevant managers were the prime need of growth and nation building. KIAMS adopted “Education through Values” as its credo and ruling paradigm, in line with the Kirloskar philosophy and outlook. Today, KIAMS graduates all over the world are recognised for their industry-immersed knowledge. The institute has been instrumental in offering not just management knowledge to aspiring leaders, but development and consultancy to some of the most inspired businesses across the world like Adecco, Grasim Limited (Aditya Birla Group), JSW Steel Limited, and the Abdullah Hashim Company Limited (Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS), in collaboration with InnovationNext, a leading consulting firm in the field of breakthrough innovations, has recently set up a world-class ‘Centre for Creativity & Innovation’. The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has approved the innovation framework deployed at the Centre.KIAMS has always believed in creating managers who are in keeping with the changing times. The centre not only promotes creative ideas in a stunning ambience, but strives to transform young minds into innovative business leaders who can go on to make a difference.

As of the 2011-12 academic session, KIAMS has conducted 457 MDP’s for a total of 9228 executives. In addition, 120 research papers and conference representations have originated from amongst the Faculty and researchers at KIAMS.
