Ekta Maheshwari, a student at KIAMS, is currently interning with Hanmer MSL in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Her experience with this advertising and sales agency has allowed her to get one step closer to understanding what it takes to develop and execute a robust advertising strategy for various clients.
When we asked her to tell us a bit about her current project, she said: “I am working on a project for the Radisson Blu hotel which will be formally launched in June 2012. Hanmer has been handling this project for almost a year now. The company is involved in designing all its collaterals and will soon develop an integrated marketing plan for the launch of the hotel.”
The agency Ekta works is expert in developing marketing communication and advertising collateral for its clients. In her role as an intern, she said: “The project studies the top 10 hotel groups in the world and their brands that have established a presence in India. I studied their logos, taglines and print ads to understand the positioning of the competing hotels.
“My role is to conduct a small market research study for Radisson Blu. The hotel industry is growing at a fast pace in Ahmedabad. Radisson Blu needs to position itself differently from its competitors. Through this research, I’ll understand how the major hotels in Ahmedabad have positioned themselves. Also, I am conducting a perception analysis of corporations toward a Five Star hotel. Based on the above mentioned analysis, the agency will come up with an integrated marketing plan for Radisson Blu.”
Ekta has been interning with this advertising, public relations and social media marketing agency for a month now and over a period of time she has come to value what she has learned at the agency in the form of ideation and teamwork.
