Bhuvnesh Balki, PGDM Batch 2016 – 18 has recently begun his journey as a management student at KIAMS. But he is filled with confidence and speaks like a seasoned Pro. He has been made aware of his talents that are being polished every single day at the B School. At the same time he has developed an eagerness to learn and work on his limitations.
According to Bhuvenesh the first few months at KIAMS have been a revelation. He has learned a lot about the world of business, people from different backgrounds who he now calls friends, and above all, himself. He believes the first step he took on KIAMS campus has been a giant leap for a future management professional. We bring you his tale in his own words.
“There were a few factors that made me choose KIAMS over other management institutes. Of course I was drawn by the brand name Kirloskar attached to it. I also looked at the beautiful campus and surroundings, which made me want to come here for two years, and pursue my dreams.
You will come across many management institutes that brag about a fantastic placement record but there’s often more than meets the eye. The thing I liked about KIAMS is that they were very honest and transparent about their placement record. And it’s pretty good since top companies come here for recruitment, so it was a major plus for me while making the decision.
At KIAMS while we learn from the best in the classroom, there is emphasis on practical learning as well. There are different activities and initiatives that help students understand practical implications of concepts they have learned. For example, Karobar is an activity that taught me tricks of marketing firsthand and I am grateful for that.
There is so much I have gained in my short time at KIAMS that it is difficult to pinpoint one particular takeaway. However I would like to say that I have learned the importance of time management and finding the right work-life balance. I will count on these takeaways when I am working as a professional.
I have also gained a lot from the teamwork on different projects and assignments. It has brought me closer to my batch mates and I feel that I can rely on them for support and encouragement any time. That’s why although it’s been only a few months at KIAMS it feels like I have been here for years.”
